About Kristi Piehl
Kristi Piehl is an Emmy Award-winning journalist, entrepreneur and CEO, author, speaker, podcast host and public relations expert.
She spent 12 years as a television news reporter, appearing on Good Morning America, CNN and the BBC. She founded Media Minefield in 2010, a national award-winning public relations firm specializing in media relations, executive social media and thought leadership and crisis communications.
Kristi is a passionate believer in the power of sharing stories. She is the author of “Flip Your Script: Own your story & unlock the positive power of social media”, host of the Flip Your Script podcast and an experienced speaker for keynotes and executive teams.
Kristi won the 2024 PRNEWS Top Women Award, the PRNEWS People of the Year Award in 2023 and 2024 and has been named one of Minnesota’s 500 Most Powerful Business Leaders. Under her leadership, Media Minefield has won numerous local and national awards for client work and culture, including Best Place to Work and Best Public Relations Firm. The company has also landed on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing private companies three times and is recognized as a WBENC-certified Women’s Business Enterprise.
Kristi earned her Master of Science in Management and Leadership from Pepperdine University’s Graziadio Business School. She is frequently interviewed in local and national news outlets and is a contributing writer for Inc.
Outside of the office, Kristi is a mom to two young men, and she enjoys reading, golfing, traveling and spending time with her family.
