Ep. 127 Christine Handy: From Model to Breast Cancer Disruptor

Christine Handy began modeling at age 11 and worked on campaigns for brands, including Guess, J. Crew, Pepsi and Target. Christine modeled up until her cancer diagnosis in 2012. She underwent more than a year of chemotherapy treatments and surgeries. However, it wasn’t until 2020 when an infection caused her to lose both breasts.

Once Christine learned that beauty was an inside job, she was able to go from surviving to thriving. She returned to her modeling career, walking in New York Fashion Week and Miami Swim Week and doing a partnership with Victoria’s Secret as one of their breastless models.

Today, Christine devotes her life to helping others as a motivational speaker, an advocate and a mentor for young adults, prisoners, breast cancer patients and survivors and many others. She is also a best-selling author of the book “Walk Beside Me”, a fictional depiction of her life and plans are underway to turn the book into a film called Willow.

In this episode of Flip Your Script with Kristi Piehl, Christine talks about the importance of sharing your story to help other people understand they are not alone.
