Ep. 56 Chandra Sanders: From Pandemic Unemployment to Helping Moms RISE

Like millions of working moms, Chandra Sanders was laid off at the beginning of the pandemic. Rather than scrambling to find just any job, she decided to wait and let the perfect job come to her. She was connected with The Mom Project and soon became the Director of RISE, a program dedicated to helping moms gain access to professional training courses to learn new skills and keep up with the ever-changing workplace technologies. The single mom of three and Flip Your Script host Kristi Piehl discuss the growth mindset, the power that comes from positive self-talk and how to successfully pivot in your career.

CLOSING QUOTE

In 2014, I created a vision board. On that vision board, I had different phrases like ‘flip your script.’ Another one is ‘reaching for rising stars.’ A couple other ones were ‘no boundaries,’ ‘freedom,’ all of these things. So I keep a journal. I keep those words front of mind for me. I keep my vision board and everything kind of present so I don’t get distracted.
